Lexington's airport is small, which means limited direct routes but also shorter lines and easier parking. The big decision is whether to fly out of LEX direct or drive 60-90 minutes to Louisville or Cincinnati for better fares.

Rule of thumb: check all three before booking. The difference can easily be $200-400 roundtrip, especially for international flights.

Best Days to Book

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are historically the cheapest days to book domestic flights. Sunday mornings can also have deals, but data is mixed. The worst days to book: Fridays and Saturdays, when business travelers are driving last-minute pricing.
